Miley Cyrus: Can’t be Tamed

Miley cyrus’ music video ‘Can’t be tamed’ is about a girl/bird creature called ‘the Cyrus’. It is being kept in a cage for captivity which makes people intrigued until ‘the Cyrus’ can’t take any more. This beautiful creature decides to express her feelings through song and dance about not being able to be tamed!

There are long shots used at the beginning of the video to show how  ‘The Cyrus’ has vase wings that reach the top of the cage it is trapped in. This highlights how much detail and work has gone into this video and how amazing the special effects are. To keep the strange iconography of the video they have decided to set it in the olden days where all of the people are wearing old fashion clothing such as masks and long dresses to keep the creepy and daunting atmosphere.

The lyrics ‘For those who don't know me I can get a bit crazy Have to get my way, yep 24 hours a day 'cause I'm hot like that’ foreshadows how Miley has lately been feeling in reality and how she in fact really believes her lyrics! She is constantly expressing on twitter and other social media sites that she loves the way she looks and that no one, not even her family, will change the way she is currently acting.

Throughout the entire video dark colors such as black, dark blue and purple is used. This is to keep a wonderland and exciting feel to the video, featuring never before seen creatures that dances and sings! Then there is one section of the video where ‘The Cyrus’ almost forgets all about the stresses and torment of its life and has turned into a beautiful singing human with a entire, long to close up screen, full of peacock feathers! It is incredible.

Miley Cyrus has many music videos however, in my opinion, this is the best. It pushes her to prove that she has incredibly talent- not only is her singing voice amazing, she is also able to dance like a professional!
